SSAT Verbal

SSAT analogies

Thirty questions that turn on naming the relationship first — one sentence that fits the stem pair, then the choice that fits the same sentence.

Questions 31–60 of the verbal section are analogies: identify the precise relationship in the stem pair, then find the choice that repeats it in the same direction. The reliable method is the bridge sentence: state the stem relationship as one sentence (“a cartographer makes a map”), then test every choice in that exact sentence.

Common relationships

Worker : product, tool : user, young : adult, part : whole, degree (breeze : gale), synonym and antonym pairs, instrument : quantity measured, and specialist : subject. RichiePrep explanations state the tested bridge explicitly for every analogy, so review builds the pattern library the section rewards.
