SSAT Reading

SSAT reading

Forty questions in forty minutes across fiction, science, history, poetry and argument, on passages numbered by line so an answer can be cited rather than recalled.

Forty questions in forty minutes, spread over passages of literary fiction, science, history, poetry, and argument. Questions ask for the main idea, stated details, inferences, vocabulary in context, tone, and the function of specific lines.

Evidence first

Every RichiePrep reading explanation starts with the evidence — quoted, with line numbers — before explaining why the credited choice follows and why each wrong choice fails (too narrow, not stated, contradicted, off-topic). Practicing with line-numbered passages in the player builds the cite-then-choose habit the section rewards.

Pacing guide: about one minute per question, reading time included. The navigator and flag tools make it cheap to bank the easy questions first and return to the hard ones.
