Test-day checklist

The week before

  • Confirm the registration: date, arrival time, format (paper or computer-based), and your testing site's device and admission rules.
  • Print or save the admission ticket where you can find it without thinking.
  • Shift bedtime so the test-day wake-up is normal, not heroic.
  • Do your last full practice test no closer than 4–5 days out.

The night before

  • Pack: admission ticket, approved ID if required, several sharpened No. 2 pencils and an eraser (paper testing), water and a snack for the break.
  • No new practice material. Reread a few explanations you liked — confidence, not cramming.
  • The night before: run the Final Check Night Run (about 20 minutes), then stop.
  • Set two alarms. Lay out clothes in layers; testing rooms run hot and cold.

The morning

  • Ordinary breakfast — the one your practice mornings used.
  • Arrive early enough to be bored for ten minutes.
  • One reminder, not twelve. Ours: answer the question that is asked, and trust the section strategy you practiced (SSAT: eliminate before guessing; ISEE: never leave a blank).

Rules vary by administration and site — the instructions in your registration always win.
