A 10-test study plan

Ten tests are not ten chances to check a score — they are ten cycles of the loop: Test → Score → Review → Repair. The plan below fits a 10–14 week season; compress or stretch it to yours.

Weeks 1–2 · Baseline

Take Test 01 under full conditions — every section timed, both breaks, no calculator, one sitting. Review every incorrect and omitted question the next day. Write one sentence per miss: the decision that would have prevented it. That sentence, not the score, is the deliverable.

Weeks 3–8 · The build (Tests 02–07)

One test every 7–10 days. Between tests, the repair work: redo your missed questions from memory after 72 hours (retrieval review, not a fresh score); study the skills your report keeps naming; for verbal, keep a word list from the explanations (each miss teaches four or five words). Treat the last test’s repair list as the checkpoint for starting the next one; if two or three kinds of question keep coming back, note them for a teacher rather than stalling the plan.

Weeks 9–10 · Pressure-test (Tests 08–09)

Same-time-of-day sittings, at the hour your exam will start. Practice the pacing decisions: answering the easy questions first, flagging and returning, and (SSAT) eliminate-then-guess versus omit; (ISEE) never leaving a blank.

Final week · Confidence (Test 10)

Last full test no closer than 4–5 days out. After it, work through whatever is still unresolved — incorrect, omitted, or answered by a guess that happened to land — and then a few of the questions you flagged but got right, so you finish by watching your own process work. Taper: sleep, logistics, the checklist. No new material in the last 48 hours.
