Timed, full-length practicethat teaches like a tutor.
A score on its own tells a student almost nothing.
RichiePrep gives them the reasons — and the next step.
Here are the five things we do differently for the SSAT and ISEE Upper Level, with the evidence for each.
Sections run one after another on server-side clocks, with breaks built in, one question per screen, a navigator, flags, and choice elimination. Answers save as you go and the save state is visible: a confirmed save is on our server, a pending one says so and retries when you reconnect, and reopening the test returns you to the question you left with the time you actually had left.

Every question is explained, not just the letter
Every one of the 3,260 questions carries a written explanation — the reasoning behind the correct answer, and on most questions the likely trap and the efficient route; reading questions also name the concept to review. Every one of them also carries a note under each wrong choice, saying what that particular choice gets wrong, so the answer you picked is the one you read about.
Question review, with your answer beside the correct one.

The report names the next step
A score alone changes nothing. After every test the report separates correct, incorrect, and omitted under your exam's own rules, maps performance by skill and pacing, and names the two or three priorities worth the next study block — in language a parent can read without decoding.
The practice report, as a student sees it after submitting.

A published series stands behind every question
The online SSAT library grows out of Richie's SSAT Upper Level Series — six printed volumes, 3,298 original questions — and shares its method and skill taxonomy. Richie's ISEE Upper Level Series brings the same method to the ISEE: four volumes — Mathematics, Verbal Reasoning, Reading Comprehension and Practice Tests — 3,084 original questions. Same author, same method, in print and on screen; the Vocabulary volume's 30-day engine is the free word game here.
One system. Two exams. One complete Upper Level path.

The numbers are counted, not claimed
We never show invented scaled scores, percentiles, or admission odds — those need equating data only the test makers have. Every figure on this site is counted from the published content, every test is versioned, and corrections are logged publicly on the errata page.
questions, each explained and each with a note under every wrong choice

Where we draw the line
What we do —and what we will not.
A practice site earns trust by what it refuses to fake.
These are the lines we hold — written into the terms and the children’s privacy notice, not just this page.

What RichiePrep does
What RichiePrep will not do
Scores
Reports the practice raw score under that exam's own rule, with correct, incorrect and omitted counted separately.
Never reports a scaled score, percentile or stanine as your result, and never imitates the test makers' score report — those need equating data only the test makers hold.
Questions
Publishes original questions, written and checked in-house, versioned, with corrections logged in public on the errata page.
Never reuses questions from administered tests, and never counts an essay or writing sample as a question.
Explanations
Explains all 3,260 multiple-choice questions in writing, opened beside your own answer.
Never marks an answer right or wrong without saying why.
What comes next
Names the two or three skills worth the next study block, with the evidence the call was made on.
Never predicts a test-day score or an admission outcome.
Money
One-time purchase, 365-day access, one library per exam. The two half-length tests and the vocabulary game are free.
No subscription, no auto-renewal, and no welcome discount counting down to midnight.
